Four Wedding Photography Mistakes You Should Avoid

Whether you are an amateur or already on a professional level, there will always be common mistakes during shoots that are unavoidable. Even if these mistakes are always being talked about, some still find themselves committing the same mistake unconsciously.

Weddings, as one of the most important events in one’s life, can be quite hard to document. It is extremely important to produce high quality and relevant photos on the event itself, for that is what the wedding couple has entrusted you with when they signed the wedding photography package with you. Sometimes, even if you have state-of-the-art gears and professional capabilities, unavoidable mistakes are very common. As a photographer, you should always be open for criticisms and be open to rooms for improvement.

With years of experience in the wedding industry, Chris Ling International Photographers have a great understanding on the dos and don’ts of wedding photography. To guide you and keep you aware about these common mistakes, we have made a list of common mistakes that will be helpful to you as you embark on your journey towards success in the field of wedding photography:

Not Signing a Contract
This is probably the most important aspect and most common mistake made especially by beginners in the field. A contract is an integral part of any business transactions as it states the different rules, policies, and the services covered. It is also where the rights of both the customers and the photographer are stated. A contract is very essential as it serves also as a binding agreement from both parties and protect them should there be a dispute in the feature—which we hope would not happen, though!

Not Having Enough Space or Extra Memory Card
This will pose as a huge problem, especially for actual day wedding photographers and videographers. Going to an event as big as a wedding warrants you to bring extra memory cards to store photos and videos as you are expected to capture a lot of stills and moments during the celebration. Be sure to bring one or two extra memory cards with big capacity so you would not have to deal with the hassle of frequently importing photos to your laptop or find yourself in a situation where you have insufficient memory to take more photos. Be sure to bring along extra batteries as well!

Not Fully Updated with the Trends
In photography, trends change overtime. Although there are still some that remains a classic, being updated to the latest styles can help you achieve quality photos and beautiful shots too. To keep yourself updated to the trends and latest photography updates, you can enroll yourself in different photography workshops in Singapore that happens from time to time.
